Probation and Its Effectiveness: Perspectives from Offenders, the Public, and the Media
Abstract
This publication summarizes the findings of research focused on probation. In-depth and semi-structured narrative interviews were used to gather information on the experiences of offenders under the supervision of a probation officer. A public opinion survey was also conducted on a representative sample of the Czech population, mapping their views on probation and its potential use in working with offenders. An analysis of the media representation of probation in the Czech media was also carried out.
